Offshore Again
There is just something about offshore fishing. You can't quite put your finger on it. It might be the chance to battle with a fish easily the size of a man or bigger, or it might be the shot at seeing something so natural it awes the senses. Offshore fishing contains a quality of mystery not easily expressed but awesomely experienced. My pocketbook keeps me from offshore fishing more often. Capital, cost, and cash flow keep me in the bays most days, but every year I try to make that one trip offshore which keeps the mystery alive.
Hunting Feral Hogs on the Haun Ranch
DEER AND HOGS! Marshall, Micah, and myself spent the weekend of July 13 - 14th on the Haun Ranch near Cuero Texas looking for feral hogs and we found them! The Haun Ranch is a low fenced ranch in Dewitt county which has a large population of both feral hogs, turkey, and whitetail. Photos courtesy of Haun Ranch.
Hunting Russian Boar at the Boar Creek Ranch with Kelly Garmon
There are those that say there are no real Russian Boars in the U.S., to them I say.... nestled in the semi-tropical Trinity River watershed is a ranch called the Boar Creek. My wife Karen and I went there the weekend of May 17 - 19th for Karen's birthday. We arrived right after a rainstorm and were met by Kelly and Nick Frame, the owners and operators of the Boar Creek.
Hog Hunting in Tropical Texas By Allen Shannon
A few of us headed to a tropical wilderness between Corsicana and Palestine seeking the Texas grizzly. This area was so wild I could not believe I was in Texas. Thick woods with plants of all kinds in the wettest environment I've ever seen in this great state. Tucked away inside this wilderness is Boar Creek Ranch home to many wild hogs with Russian characteristics – and that’s what I was after.
Hunting the West Kerr Ranch with Kelly Garmon
I visited the West Kerr Ranch on the western edge of the Hill Country, near Junction, the weekend of March 22nd. Here is how it went. < Previous Page Field Reports : Page 2 |
