I am planning a free dove hunt over Labor Day in Eastland County. I have two different tracs of land. Motels rooms may be hard to find in Eastland because of other hunters. I have areas where you may camp if you like. Plan on roughing it. Bring your grill, and sleeping bag. Dads, I encourage you to bring your children provided they hunt. I welcome trap shooting and I will have a 100-200 yard rifle range set up, .22 and 10, 15 and 25 yard range for pistols. You may bring your dog if they don't chase cattle. This is not my property, it belongs to my parents, so please respect it. This hunt is limited to the first 60 hunters. RSVP as soon as you can. Be a good idea to get a white-wing stamp too, they are in the area. Hunter ed cards, dont forget them if you have to have one, it's a ticket. The reason I am doing this is to promote youth hunting, you might even meet a new friend. I have a few rules. 1. Be safe, we are all hunters and we enjoy a safe and fun hunt. 2. No illegal drugs or alcohol. You will be asked to leave. 3. Follow all hunting regulations, the game warden there will write you a ticket. There is no limit on the Eurasian dove, so know what type of bird you are shooting at. 4. Drink plenty of water, it will be hot. 5. Please do not litter, I will have trash cans available. 6. Please dispatch any coyote or wild hog you see. 7. Please be respectful of others and their property. 8. If you open a gate, shut it back. 9. Watch the cattle, they are expensive. 10. Watch for copperheads and rattlesnakes. Pidgeon Road Guns is a few miles away. There is a Wal-Mart in Eastland to get shells. I will be around all day Friday to greet you and help you with your things. They are seeing lots of birds and shooting should be good. Remember this is a free hunt and let's have a good time. You may contact me through the forum, PM, email me at sidneyrholt@yahoo.com or call at 903-348-7602....I look forward to meeting you.

Awesome offer -- bet you fill up every spot!!! Good to see nice folks doing things like this, and I sure hope that there are no bad apples that show up and ruin it for everyone. Kudos, sir!

Thanks for your service. I already have plans for the first two weekends and I will be involving my kids -- otherwise, that would be an offer we'd take you up on for sure. Maybe you can post a couple of photos and an update of how it went afterward!

What a great offer. If only my daughter were old enough to hunt yet, I would cancel my plans for that weekend. Make it an annual event and I can gaurantee my daughter and I will be there in a couple of years. You are doing a great service. Keep up the good work.
Guns don't kill people....Its those pesky little bullets making lots of holes that all the blood leaks out of.

ok guys, looks like im full of hunters. Im only accepting disabled veterans and Marines now. I have three Marine Corps League Detachments that will be present. Many of you may not realize but so many of our wounded service men and women in trasition from the military to civilian life are having a very tough time. At the hunt , I will have a representive to accept donations to help these families. Most are receiving free food from trucks where food has been donated, and this is sad! Its mainly the lower rank enlisted men, where they barely make their bills anyway, if at all. All donations will go to the SEMPER FI FUND. If you would like to donate you can visit semperfifund.org Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund 825 College Street, Suite 102 PMB 609 Oceanside, CA 92057

Marine, I would first like to thank you for what you are doing for the veterans as well as the hunters. I believe we must keep the tradition alive. I am an Army EOD Vet and love the fact that you give back. Thanks again for supporting and your service.

Every month I receive the VFW magazine. I see these guys thinking "you know, that could have been me." And what these families of these men, I know are very stressed and thinking, Whats he going to do now. yes , I could have easily leased out for 25 - 30 bucks a day. Yea the money is nice, and I could sure use it. But in my heart, these men and my friends were worth more than the money. What Im doing, I feel its the right thing to do. I would like it if the tables were turned.
