I been out of the loop a while lol. Mostly practicing with my bow for hunting.
Going deer/turkey/hog on the 7th-9th if anything walks out i feel im ready since i can hit squirrels at 20 yards lol.
Woot! These bad boys are in the freezer and i will get  more soon as i get some off days after i go to the lease.
This is my first one with a bow. Had to shoot him again because he was chewing my arrow from first shot. [Used field points]

This one took one arrow easy. [Field point]

Since it was taking them about a minute or so to die i felt i needed to do a better job soooo. I swapped to using broadheads. It done the job, look at the difference in holes lol. They damn sure dies allot faster this round. Also the squirrel came off the end of my arrow, look how much blood is on the arrow. He bled out in like 1-1/2 seconds and fell dead.

And again with broadhead. Well looks like this is the way to do business on these critters. All i need now is about 6 or 8 more to have a good fry :)

HAPPY

Congrats Tomcat07. Good shooting!! I feel that squirrel meat is one of the best tasting game species. I find that a big rubber blunt point on the arrow makes it a lot easier to pull out of the tree and much deadlier than a field point, equal to a broadhead, actually imparting more shock.

I thought y'all were kidding around about eating tree rats!!  That needs to be an episode on the Bizarre Foods Show on TV - hillbilly delicacies.  :)

I usually eat what I kill - but never had a squirrel.  Now I know where to send my squirrels after a boring morning in the deer blind!!  I am not saying I wouldn't give squirrel meat a try, just saying I have never been hungry enough to try it.  Maybe one of these days - who knows.

Squirrel is very good and palatable meat. Comparable to rabbit.

Keep yer eyes peeled!

 Andrew,

Do yourself a favor and get you a few squirrels and fry one up. Make soup with the other. You will not reget it.
