North East Texas?

Just wondering who else on here is hunting public land in my neck of the woods. I been spending a good bit of time hunting the Lake Wright Patman area this year. Seen quite a few deer, more squirrels than I can shoot, & hog signs everywhere (think they are running at night). Got a late start hunting this year so it was a "No Go" for a lease this year. Will definitely be looking for one come next year that is semi close to home.

Like I mentioned just curious who else on here is a N. E. Texas local...

Harris county

Living in Houston now but spent 20 years of my life (childhood and highschool) in NE TX.  There is a lot of Corps land on the south end of wright patman.  Follow hwy 67 down.  Take as many hogs as you can!!!  They're everywhere.  Had my first Hog hunt in '97 with 3 guys a 45 caliber handgun and 4 dogs.  Ever seen a guy handcuff a live boar?  Said he needed it to train his pups.

i also hunt lake wright patman, ducks only tho, got a few limits so far this year but hunting has been better past years, thinking the weather is still a little to warm for em right now. if your looking to do some hog hunting black point landing would be a great spot, seems we see 50 every morning on the way to the blind.

Yea, Duck Hunter that is close to the area I been hunting a lot here lately. Well on the Corley side that is. I been seeing signs everywhere for the hogs, but yet to see one so far. Of course I normally don't see a hog unless I have high brass #6 loaded up in the old shotgun...lol

I really like that part of the Patman area. Seems I seen it all back in there. Even stumbled across a few turkeys a couple of weeks ago in there. I know where I plan to go next April.....lol

They been taking some nice deer out of the area as well. Two weekends ago a guy took his son (I'm guessing he was around 12) and bagged a really nice 12 point in the same area I hunt. Whats messed up about that is I seen the very same deer the night before heading into a honey hole. I remember seeing him (at no more than 20 ft away) and thinking "They grow that big in here?"......lol

Hey, I know a spot fairly close to the Malden ramp that has been covered up with ducks every time I been in that area. We couldn't get the big Express back in there, but if you had a mud boat you can get right in there with them. let me know and I'll shoot ya a map. It's not like I can make it back in there.....lol

yeah i have 14 foot weldbilt boat 27 horse go-devil so not too many places that we cant go lol....yeah send me a map u cant ever have too many spots to hunt, seems everytime u find a good spot to hunt somebody wants to sit 50 yards away and expect to hunt right with ya which sucks. and with the duck hunters that this area has its hard to find spots that only few people know about...i havent seen too many deer while riding around on patman looking for some honey holes, but on the way to the landings i think we almost hit a good buck on the way everytime lol, my email address is duckhuntingf150@aol.com to send me that map, thanks
