Nice silencer on the end of the barrel. I believe that is illegal, especially if you are hunting with it.

dirtmonkey, you are correct, it is illegal to hunt with a suppressor.   IF it is a game animal......................deer are considered by TPWD as game animals, not coyotes and hogs. Also the suppressor in question has the required BATF stamp.

Good job of reading up on the rules and regs. Jed.  It is amazing how many folks miss these little bits of info in the TPWD regs.  It is still a free country if we just follow the rules and of course contact the Game Warden when your going out at night with a "red" spotlight hunting non game animals.  No sense asking for trouble and the wardens really do appreciate it.  You go Jed and what cal. if the rifle?  Good to see you taking the son along on the hunts.

Thanks for the comments. That particular rifle is a RR .223, with a Advanced Armament suppressor, Timney 3# single stage trigger. It has a Hand Select Gen III D-760 night vision scope mounted on the flat top. Hunter was shooting 60gr Nosler Partitions.
