GIGGITY!!!

I really cannot wait for saturday this year. Got my bow stand set up 20 yards from corn feeder (gun stand sits about 75 yards away from that). Bucks been seen on trail camera, nothing real fancy yet but I plan on letting em go for a while this year anyway. I really want to see all the deer out there before I ever let one fly.  My personal management plan is to "manage" my buck fever, by waiting till thanksgiving to fill my tag, AT LEAST!

Opening weekend, Coryell County north of Copperas Cove about 1200 acres of family owned land. I also have a 700 acre lease up in Cottle County just south of Paducah. I plan on making one or maybe 2 trips up there in gun season. I will be more likely to take a deer up there just to get rid of the fever, but I live close to the family area so I want to be able to hunt there all season.

Hey Tim and Mike , I like Ft Hood as well. I hunted there in 1967 bow and arrow first and I remember having to shoot a 3 shot group with my 30-06 befor they would let me hunt with a rifle and I remember that day was very foggy. The rifle shooting was in a buried 100 yard long flume and your key would fit the front end and the target end  only. It was a neat set-up. That day the 3 shots were covered with a dime and the guy said that would probably be good enough.

This is a target shot in the wind with the old Model 70 Winchester at 100 yards.

Hey Tim, on opening day of rifle season, I'll wave at you from south of a certain ridge holding up some old friend of mine named Alpha, while you and that guy that sleeps in his tree stand seek him out in the wings. Of course, you never nose, he could be on the tail end of that plane thingy scenting DOE's too!
