We booked a trip with Ken Gould at Riobravohunting.com in September 2009 for a trip Jan. 01, 2010. We were told we could harvest 2 deer, 3 hogs, 3 turkeys and an exotic if we saw one. He also said he had lodging come to find out he does not. All he has is a list of places to try, we were lucky and got one. Untill the day before the hunt we thought this was a standard hunt (morning and evening) This is not the case he drops you off at 5:30 PM and will not pick you up untill 6:30 PM.

We had 6 hunters in our party which means we could have shot 12 deer and 15 hogs. While we knew this was a dream, we would settle for half of that. Well we shot everthing we saw. six hunters, 1 small doe and one nice hog. That's it NOTHING else was seen! Ken had told us that the only reason we wouldn't get our animals was if we missed. I would have loved the opportuity to miss!

This guy Ken is a scam! he changes his story every time you talk to him, the only way to know he is lyeing is when he's talking. DON'T waste your money. This place sucks!

The only bright spot was his son Kegan he is a class act the only thing bad about him is his father. He tried to find animals but there just wasn't any!

I am very sorry to hear your story.  Guys like this give the good ones a bad name.  I took a look at his website and the first alarming thing that I see is that nothing looks recent on there at all.  Everything appears to be very old.  I hope you have better luck in the future!

ANGRY

My husband and a few of his friends booked a trip with this guy. It was meant to be a memorable weekend for my daughter and other kids with their dads. Not to mention the men were looking forward to a great time and killing the animals that they were led to believe were plentiful. !!!!!!WRONG!!!!!!! THEY WERE SCAMMED FROM THE START. Please do not waist your money. They were supose to be able to shoot three hogs, three turkeys two deer and one exotic. Well, much to their surprise the animals were scarce. This was bad but to make it worse, when they arrived, they discovered that they would have to find lodging. He led them to belive that there were cabins on his property. WRONG AGAIN!!! To top the cake, they were told that they would be the only ones on the lease just to find out thet there were guns EVERYWHERE. they were drop[ped of at the stand at 5:30 am and not picked up until 6pm that evening. On the bright side, my little girl (10) did shoot a nice hog, and one of the guys got a deer. (THE ONLY TWO ANIMALS THAT WERE SEEN ALL WEEKEND). According to my little girl, Keagan (the guide) was great but the trip was AWFUL and would have been a complete bust if she had not bonded with her dad, After all there was nothing else to do. (NO HUNTING). DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY UNLESS YOU ARE ONLY WANTING TO SIT IN A STAND FOR TWELVE HOURS AND DO NOTHING.

THIS HAD TO BE THE WORST MANAGED HUNT EVER....

Myself and five buddies of mine just finished hunting with Ken on Jan.13, 2010.  We were told that we could shoot turkeys, hogs, does, spike bucks, and exotics.  Four turkeys were shot, then we were told that turkeys were OUT OF SEASON in the northeren zone.  Ken called the game warden on us.  And we all got citations giver to us.  Got back home to print up the craigslist ad where it also stated turkeys and the ad had been DELETED.  This is probably going to cost alot for us.  For Ken, he still seems to keep collecting everyones money.  We need to stop this guy.

March 17, 2010, we scheduled a hog hunt for my 15 year old son's birthday.  It was was also my 7 year old's first time.  To start with, we were originally told to be there at 3 pm and were going to hunt 2 hogs and 1 exotic "if we saw one".  The day of the hunt we were told he didn't get off work until 4 and he would meet us at 4:15.  Needless to say we didn't meet him until 4:45.  While he drove us to our blinds, he said if we wanted to shoot an exotic we had to wait until after 1:30 in the morning.  We decided to stay, because that was the plan.  He also said that he turns his phone off at 10 pm so anything after that would have to wait till morning.  That should have been a red flag.  The blinds were rickety old wood boxes that you could have strained spagetti through much less stop the wind.  The feeder lights were so dim that we had to bring our own spot lights.  and forget going to the trucks because the other 2 hunters didn't even know how far or how to get back to them.  By midnight my 7 y.o.. was ready to go, the only thing good I can say is that he put he and I close to the truck.  Shortly after that my 15 y.o. was freezing and needed me to bring a coat, the only problem with that is I didn't know where he was.  Thanks to the other hunters that were there we found him around 1:45am  I feel sorry for my boys who were promised such a grand hunt that turned into a miserable experience.  Please investigate before you hunt.  I hope this hasn't ruined my 7 y.o.'s hunting experience because under the right circumstances I know he will love it.  I know I will investigate more the next time.
