we've used them a couple times and didn't have any success, but i've done the same with coyote calls and sometimes nothing and sometimes they come from everywhere. I can say this we had some pigs caught in a trap the was squealing like a pig in distress and we had a bunch of sows in piglets come check them out, so I recommend the distress not the feeding frenzy tape.

I have even used recorded pig game calls on pigs by sneaking up on the edge of a field they were in to try it out. Though it did not alarm them, they moved farther away when they heard it. They definately were not attracted to it. As for the squealing, IMHO, I think they would only be attracted to it when it is from one of a known pig or piglet to a group, like a live one in a trap. A strange squeal is probably to be just like the recorded calls I tried.

Have tried several times with piglet distress calls.I know how they sound when you pick one up in the trap.I blow the call the same way and have only called up a coyote.Them pigs are smart!They know you're in there making noise and smell your ass a mile off!
