Boar Hog Question

I am hunting a place that has a good deal of hogs in the area.  I have a lone boar that is coming regualarly to a feeder at night but he is always alone.  I know other hogs are close by but they are never with him or they never come to the feeder.  Could it be something he is doing that would keep the other pigs at bay or is if just a coincidence.  This is a well established feeder and I have deer, turkey, racoons and this lone boar coming around.  I have seen and shot pigs over this feeder in the past but just this single boar for about two months now.   BTW:   I used some flour as an attractant and it seems to work pretty good.  He had dug pretty deep holes in the ground to get to it.

all the big boars we kill are alone or after a sow in heat. They tend to be loners. he may be pissing and leaving his sent around that could keep sows with shoats or piglets with her away.

Try putting some diesel out or used motor oil. hogs absolutely love it!

I'm glad the flour worked, trying doing it again but just putting it all over the ground or in a pile

Big boars are solo and defend off an area like a dominate buck or bull elk. They will hang around and push other adolesents out waiting for a sow in heat to come around. Most big boars are nocturnal but sooner or later he will make a mistake. Took us 5 hunts to kill this one.  He finally came in 10 mintes before dark. Try a solar motion activated light on the feeder and kill him at night. www.redriverboars.com
