We have that problem at two of our hunting locations in south texas and what we do is put a good hog panel fence around some of the feeders where we want to attract deer, the perimeter of the fenced feeder is something like 16 x 16 with enough room for the deer to jump the 4ft panels and feed on the corn, we also put a secondary feeder inside the fenced area with apples, cotton seend, etc and throw food plot in a bag on the ground to get some green stuff growing inside the feeding pen.  Then, since we still like to attract hogs, we put hog pipes and other hog feeding devices or food sources in seperate areas to keep the hogs attracted and feeding away from the deer areas.  But, i would imagine another reason you have not seen much deer is because of the bad drought we had the past several seasons.  It should be a different story now with all the good rain we had in Spring.

Ok i manage deer in east texas and i feel your pain!! The truth is that if you have hogs on your property your never gona get rid of them. They have litters in numbers up to 15 and they can hav up to 2 and a half litters a year so getting rid of them is dam near impossible. What you can do is keep them in check...traps are a very good way of doing this but you have to have alot of traps and someone to run them every week...one thing that i hav found is traps dont put true pressure on tha pigs..if you realy want to put tha fear in these pigs find someone who has a set of hog dogs and let them run your place durring the offseason.. next to a hellicopter hunt this is THE best way to keep your hogs in check...as far as bringin your deer in you need to plant some food plots...you can have all the grass in the world but it wont help you unless the deer will eat it. Coastal..bermuda...bahiagrass....these are all great for cattle but you need forbs for the deer...tender grasses..once it starts coolin down in late september disc you up a little track and plant you some winter oats..you can toss in a little vetch or wheat but not nessasary... tha bigger tha better.  I hope this helps and if you have any more questions just ask. PEACE

Forget the silly deer.....hunt the pigs!!!!!!

Seriously though, once you've got'em, you can only hope to control them.....Good Luck!
