Two hogs taken out of the pasture south of Lockhart, TX.  The one on the tailgate was a 157# boar shot with a .30-06 at 30 yards at dusk.  The one on the ground is a 168# sow shot with 00 buckshot at 20 yards after dark.  Also took a 135# boar earlier this year.  The freezer is full, but I'm ready to go out again.  Good thing the guns are working, because my trap is getting nothing but raccoons so far this year.

This week I plan to start using diesal corn as bait for the trap.  Raccoons mostly leave it only.  If that doesn't solve it, I'm going to put a small live trap baited with cat food out and start removing the raccoons that way.

The diesal corn has done the trick.  I don't like using diesal because of the environmental concerns, but it seems to be the only thing to keep the raccoons out of the bait.  Just got these two sows; 90 and 102 pounds.  Gave one away, and put the other in the freezer.
