Hog Hunting DFW

Hello,

I have a general hunting permit at Grapevine Lake. Now that duck season is over, it's time to hunt hog!(or rabbit, squirrel) I saw a lot of tracks around the bend north of the mouth of the creek during duck season. I haven't been out there since duck season but I want to head out there soon. Has anyone seen hog or had any luck hunting hog out there?

The largest shot allowed at grapevine is #3 so it looks like archery for hog.

And what about Lake Lewisville? I've heard of hog out there. Anyone want to talk hog hunting in the DFW area?

check out beenbrook lake ive heard there allowing people to hunt there now, u do need a permit. I know there are good size deer in that area but not too sure about hogs but ive heard there are some out there. i think its bow only.

If you want to hunt in the National Forests, I talked with the Sam Houston National Forest in New Waverly last year and was told that the SHNF is overrun with feral hogs.  However, you can only hunt them during daylight hours.  Call and ask to speak with one of the biologists and ask where the best place is to find them.

hey im a huge hunter from south dakota, i live on a farm and raise hogs....i was wondering if anyone had a spot that was overrun with wild hogs and would like them killed off....we dont need loding or food just a place to hunt and pitch our tents. we will be very respectfull to land owners and how they want us to dispose of the pigs. if you have a spot or know of a spot please contact me at jharms@nvc.net thanks!
