I will be coming to Texas on March 30 and I am wanting to hunt hog. I wil be in Taylor and I was going to hunt Granger Lake, but I found out it is archery only for hogs. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You might could look into day leases in the area. Off season for hog hunting you might find some affordable deals.

I'm not lookng to pay. I found a spot in Mason, Texas which is about two hours from where I will be staying. I am looking to do it on someone's ranch or on public land.

Good luck trying to find somewhere to hunt in Texas without paying. Even hunting public will cost you a little, regular license and type 2 license. If you found a place in Mason to hunt for free you got lucky. I hunt there and it's great (deer and hogs).

Being in the military I get free hunting license. I'm trying to get a hold of Silverboar, he hunts in Red Rock and that's only an hour away from Taylor.
