G'day there everyone,

Well i thought i would just introduce myself first. So that you can all get to know me and i might get to know some of you :)

Well as you can see/read i'm not what you call a local :) I moved to the US in Feb of last year from Australia/Iraq (worked there for 4 years). As of right now i am currently living in Jacksonville, Florida. I live here with my wife (Maj USMC) and our 11mth old girl.

Anyway as i have been here just on 18mths and i have got myself settled into the US way of life, I thought it about time i start to get back out and do something that i love very much... "pig hunting" (Hog hunting). Back in Aust i grew up chasing pigs with dogs and knives and rifle, by day and night.

Now as i stated above i wanted you to get to know me and visa versa. Back in Aust we would only hunt with trusted people and land owners would only allow trusted hunters. And this is something i am a firm believe of. So i think it only right that i open myself up to you all to ask and question me about anything.

The reason why i'm on a Texas hunting forum is that my father-in-law live in Texas (Yantis), no idea where that is :) But i intend to be going out his way later this year to do some hunting and hopefully more offen after that :)

Ok the type of Pig Hunting i'm into/looking for. I'm not a trophy hunter and i don't eat what i shoot.. well not all the time. I believe pigs are getting as bad here as they are in Aust. So i feel that before we can enjoy the trophy we need to get some sort of managable control over them. yes if i get that night 250-400lb pig i'm grabbing the head. But i'm not going to let 20 other go to get that one, if that makes sence. If i had tghe room and the time i would love to breed and train a good team of dogs. But that might be some time off yet. So for know it will be mainly Gun, traps and bow (crossbow). of course i am more then happy to help out someone with a team of dogs.

Anyway that is pretty much it for now. Again please feel free to hit me up for a chat. I look forward to reading and adding my $0.02 worth on topics i can help out with. And i look forward to hopely meeting and making some new friends here in the US.

Simon
