Hi everyone,
New to Denton area, been here a little over a year. Have been training down at Quail Creek. I am a member of the Club. Have military background. You find that I am what I call semi-retired. I have a new friend here at RR, and we would like to put together a little "hog" hunt. Basically we are flexable, but don't want to spend a lot of money either. We can hunt days or nights or a little of both. I use .308, .223, AK-47, and 30-30. I have most basic equipment, but just do not know the area or where to go...... I have taken 2 and a half Defense classes in the last few weeks, and have done a little hunting over the years, but not the "big" wild animal or game hunter, but safe to go out with.....
We would like to hunt near Denton, but can drive to where they are too. We don't have hunting dogs.... At this point, since it is getting close to Christmas, we could go out after, or a quickly, and both. I try to add to my equipment twice a month. When I came to Denton I told my wife I wanted to start a hobby around a little hunting and guns, and this is what I am doing. We do not golf, and I don't fish, the pig thing is it.
I was an Author, Educator, Sales and Marketing guy for years.... Call to meet and put together relationship.....
My Name is Dr. Ferris E. Merhish, Gene to my friends. My phone is 940-262-0219 land line, 714-514-6103 Cell, 817-768-8458 my Magic-Jack.
I train a the Gun Club on Thursdays, and the weekend. Last week we took the first half of the Carbine class, I did my first "steel" match 2 weeks ago (training match).
So "Have Gun and Will travel". Look forward to hearing from one or two of you. Oh, if you know about surpression I would be interested in talking about adding this to two of my guns if it is legal.....
Thanks,
Gene
