hello, i am new to this forum and fairly new to the public lands. has anyone ever hog hunted there? i drove thru this weekend and it looks good from the road. any area better than the other? stalk or sit and wait? any help would be great. thanks.

It's one of the better public land spots, definitely need to spot and stalk - you would be wasting your time posting.  The ATV side gets a lot of traffic from both the hog hunters and duck hunters, although, like anything else, if you're willing to walk further than the crowds you can find some "less" pressured hogs.  They move around alot on the property so try to concentrate around the bamboo patches and along the river sleuths.  Use satelitte imagery to plan your hunt and be sure to hunt into the wind, or you will be wasting your time.

Thanks. i went last weekend and walked by the river. i did not go on the atv side. we jmped a group of 8 or 9  but it was too thick to get a clear shot. lots of signs. i will be going back.
