As a hoghunter, I like the fixed blade broadheads, and prefer 4 blade Muzzys. The two blades are preferable for very large game like water buffalo for sure, but the 4 blade Muzzys are fine for big hogs. More cutting area. Try and shoot the hogs within 25 yards. Piglets at any yardage your comfortable with. The difference in shooting a whitetail and a hog is an arrow will cut through a deer like butter compared to the dense build of the hog. Deer are easy to kill compared to the other animals of the world. If you really want to give yourself the very best chance of recovering your hog, make sure you shoot it quartering away and not broadside. Aim for the opposite shoulder. Midway on the body or a little lower, preferably for your up and down mark. Be aware that sometimes they may try and duck the arrow. If they don't, you have a perfect heart shot and won't have to track more than @ 50 yards. Never, ever try the front or quartering towards on a fair size hog, because more than likely, you'll be disapointed when you go to recover it. Hogs are tuff animals and can take alot of abuse. Just have patience and pick your shot well. Good Luck on your first hog hunt and I hope your successful. Send pictures!
