Creedmore -

The Austin Woods and Waters Club’s annual banquet benefiting the McBride Conservation Fund will be Thursday, October 15th at Texas Disposal Systems Exotic Game Ranch Pavilion.

The function raises money for grants to conservation organizations, many of which are involved in passing the hunting and fishing heritage on to the next generation.  Grants totaling $34,000 will be awarded to 18 recipients at this year’s event.

This autumn rendezvous of the hunting and fishing community includes a fine dinner, an opportunity to give something back to the future of hunting and fishing, a chance to win great sporting items and hunts not available elsewhere, and an occasion to share rich outdoor experiences with friends.

Auction items range from an African hunting safari and an Argentine dove hunt to South Texas hog and bird hunts, Port O’Connor and South Padre fishing trips plus enviable firearms and sporting equipment. Raffle items and door prizes ensure that every attendee has a chance to win.

TDS’ exotic game ranch provides an appropriate backdrop for the function, and some may come early to view the 30 species of African, Asian, Australian and European wildlife.  The gate opens at 5:30 and dinner will be served at 7pm.  It is located east of I-35 near Creedmoor.  Directions are on the back of the tickets, which are $75 and can be obtained from Terry Meyers at (512)750-2925
The McBride Conservation Fund Foundation was established in 1984 as the Austin Woods and Waters Club’s charitable arm, and is named for the McBride family which has generously contributed to support hunting, fishing and conservation through its business, McBride’s Guns.
