Summary:
While hunting at my deer lease in south texas, I harvest this 100lb boar at 75yds. Had'nt seen nothing all morning, just cows in my sendero. At about 8:30am this porker show's up...he started eating next to cows with no problem. Every time i was going to pull the trigger of my 308 Savage...the cows would get in the way. It took about 5 mins before I got opprotunity to get a neck shot. Patients paid off!!! HERE'S MY REASON
Summary:
Here's my reason for quiting feeding corn year round. It very seldom gets to the deer. I have finally made these hogs stop coming out during the day cause I would lay up in ambush on top of the hill and pick them off. Still couldn't knock a dent in them. I went to feeding the deer cottonseed, and unknowingly solved part of my hog problem. Hogs seem not to want cottonseed, or are somehow afraid of the pens. I credit the red color because that is the only difference on other pens I have made and hogs tore up. Now if I could just stop deer from eating sour corn or going into my traps, I would be very happy. HERE'S MY REASON
