Summary:
Here's what I used to bowhunt out of for many years. I got turned off from that, but am going to use them to hand gun hunt some hogs at my place. I got tired of being rained and snowed on so I went to this. It was a blessing in disguiee. The animals never spooked. I have this one located about twenty-five yards from a hog crossing. I will be cutting a slit 4" X 18" to get the shot out. The color does not matter, believe me, I have taken turkey and deer from this set up. Long reach for a Gobbler
Summary:
This gobbler just did not want to leave his harem for a hen across the way. Fortunately, I was carrying T/C 7-30 for hogs and it reached across the 140 yards and touched him! The rest of the story is that later when I saw a bunch of small pigs, I sneaked up close enough to take two with one load of turkey shot. So, the hog gun got the tom, and the turkey gun got the hogs. Whatever works! A good Morning
Summary: Well, after the rattle snake on my track, I left the red pig on the other side of the fence in the thick whitebrush and called it a morning. The snake reminded me I shouldn't be crawling through the fence, in the brush without a gun. When you cross a fence with permission, you still are suposed to leave firearms behind. Not me this day! What a fantastic mornig hunt my first day back in South Texas! Oi! Oi!
