Great bull Great Story

Great bull Great Story
Summary:

This is one of my Hog Hunters friends he is having a great year to say the least so far.

Check out this story….  A fella I went to Bridgeport HS with is having an awesome year so far……  He is going for the Nebraska slam with his bow….

First he shot a nice antelope in Aug…..no pics

Then, opening day of deer archery season, he bags a 210” mulie!!!  (pic)

He drew a coveted NE bull elk tag and just took out a 365” bull (currently the NE state record with a bow! Still have to wait the 60days) (pics)

And now he has a real nice 6x6 whitetail posing in front of his trail cam!!

Then, all he needs is a turkey and he will do it…

Some people have all the luck………

Piles of Pork

Piles of Pork
Summary:

Great story and photos got in an email today...

Couple of good friends said they had a hog problem and boy they weren't kidding. Bumped into one herd going in but found another herd right away. Started to close in on them and another herd actually cut me off. Poured the lead to them and they fell like dominoes.

Since I couldn't drive in the field, I drug them by hand into two piles. Hogs can cover a lot of distance in the time it takes to cap off 14 rounds. By the time I recovered number 8, I was too tired to look for any more.

Believe it or not , I actually spooked yet another herd on the way out!!

Long reach for a Gobbler

Long reach for a Gobbler
Summary:

This gobbler just did not want to leave his harem for a hen across the way. Fortunately, I was carrying T/C 7-30 for hogs and it reached across the 140 yards and touched him! The rest of the story is that later when I saw a bunch of small pigs, I sneaked up close enough to take two with one load of turkey shot. So, the hog gun got the tom, and the turkey gun got the hogs. Whatever works!

Badger while Turkey Hunting

Badger while Turkey Hunting
Summary: This man came down from Wisconsin to Turkey/Hog hunt at Dos Plumas Ranch. We had a great time with his two friends, two more guests from Maryland, and a Doctor from Louisiana - not to mention a great family as our host/guide/chef. The story is coming, but now I thought I would share a photo. You can CLICK HERE to learn more about Dos Plumas Ranch.

Huge Hog

Huge Hog
Summary:
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Hogzilla is being made into a horror movie. But the sequel may be even bigger: Meet Monster Pig. An 11-year-old Alabama boy used a pistol to kill a wild hog his father says weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. Think hams as big as car tires.

If the claims are accurate, Jamison Stone's trophy boar would be bigger than Hogzilla, the famed wild hog that grew to seemingly mythical proportions after being killed in south Georgia in 2004.

Dove Hunting in Orange, TX

Dove Hunting in Orange, TX
Summary:

I came across this old photo today. The best part of the story is I was dove hunting, not hog hunting, as you can tell by my grandfather's over/under in my hand.

The other great part to this story is I was with two guys who were brand new to hunting. I could not resist laying the pig on the hood of his Lexus and drivng back to camp where he was waiting. It was his first time to see a wild pig, much less shoot a dove.

The night I met Spot!

The night I met Spot!
Summary: Now, this is quite a story. I was in the middle of nowhwere out of Camp Wood Texas, setting up a pop up to hunt the next morning. It was 12:30am. I walked to the feeder to pace off my yardage, and (don't do this) I spun the feeder with my finger out of habit. I was walking back to my 4wheeler and the hair stood up on my neck as I felt something behind me. I turned, and in the darkness, I saw the white parts of this monster glowing in the moonlight. I jumped on the ATV, pulled my pistol and hollered at Butch (though I can't repeat what I was yelling). He said not to shoot, and see what he would do. I followed him with my pistol as Butch started saying here pig! THis big SOB walked over to him, and began eating the peanuts out of his hand! Then, Butch reached down, rubbed his belly and the hog flopped on the ground, passed gas, and rolled over to get his belly rubbed. I put the gun away and grabbed the camera. We had more fun with this hog that night. He just wanted goodies, and he ruined my hog hunt the next morning when he knew I was in the blind, and asking for more goodies. I brought him home as a pet for a year. Someone must have raised him as an FFA project and turned him loose in the back country.
