I have read all of the other post on recipies and will try them.  I bought my property last year and I am ready for some hogs.  I have some dear and plenty of coons but no hogs.  No pics on the cam and no signs what so ever.  Though less than a mile from my place one was hit on the road so I know they are close.

I have about 10 acres that I can hunt 27 acres total.  During the wet season there is water right on the other side of my fence line,  But it is dry as a bone right now.  I am planning on renting a dozer and digging a second pond near the hunting area, since I need a back stop  for target practice anyway.  I have flavored corn out now, plan on burrying some slop soon.  I am in the patonville/deport tx area and would like to know what some of the guys in that area have tried.

Good news! Your area is pretty much the same as all other hog areas to be had. The pigs have the same preferences, regardless of region, so their behaviour is pretty muich all the same.

Try running a feeder by a water source for a couple of months. Be sure to have a game cam up so you know just what and when things are happening. Let the hogs have their sanctuary areas also. Most of the pplaces I hunt on are 80% "no enter" zones with the feeders and stands being placed downwind on the 'huntable' areas. Pigs will stay in an area longer and feel more comfortable feeding in general if they have a designated sanctuary area to retrteat to. Good Luck!
